Thus far, Chevrolet has been all quiet in terms of the Suburban, though they are beginning to talk about their plans for 2020. If their reveal of the 2020 Silverado is any indication, expect more of everything; that is everything except weight.

Chevrolet has been making significant headway on adding power and capability to their vehicles, and one of the ways they’ve accomplished this is by reducing vehicle weight via an increased usage of high-grade aluminum. Expect the 2020 Suburban to weigh in at a lower heft than its predecessor, giving you added performance.

Speaking of performance, it’s also reasonable to anticipate that we will see a new lineup of engines for the 2020 Chevy Suburban. The new Silverado HD models are going to have a brand-new 6.6-liter V8 engine that runs on gas, an uptick over the previous year, so it’s not out of the question for the Suburban to get something similar. As a full-size SUV, the Suburban relies just as much on power as it does capability, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Suburban enter the new decade as the most powerful iteration yet.
